Wynton Butler is currently in his 29th year with the Reading School District currently serving as Director of Social Services. In this role, Butler serves as hearing officer for the administrative suspensions and supervises the Home School Visitors. Throughout his career at Reading School District, Butler has served as Interim Director of the Reading Virtual Academy, Principal and Vice Principal of Reading High School, teacher and student advocate.

Butler earned a Bachelor of Public Administration from Kutztown University as well as a teaching certification and master’s degree in Urban Education from Alvernia University.

In the military, Butler served twenty-one years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War who retired as a Major. Butler is married to Magisterial District Judge Tonya Butler and has two sons Wynton II and Wesley.
